Jewish Environmental Lawyers for Israel (JELI) Jewish Environmental Lawyers for Israel (JELI) is an informal linking of Jewish environmental lawyers with the environmental protection movement in Israel, and aims to promote interaction among legal professionals within the international Jewish community. JELI is seen as offering Israeli environmentalists an opportunity to share the experiences, milestones and achievements of environmental advocates practicing in North America, Europe and elsewhere, while offering Jewish environmental lawyers worldwide an opportunity to contribute to the overall development of environmental protection in Israel. In December 2004, a founding meeting of JELI was held during the visit to Israel of the 2004 JGEN delegation, and a listserv is being set up to get the ball rolling.
